Yikes!! Build an Ark!!

Well, went out to the garden to some prepping and it was totally under water!! No wonder this area has no nutrients. I am going to move the beds to a better area. One of the problems with our yard is that it used to be a cornfield, before something we call "crop rotation"! The best I can do is find a place that doesn't flood and get some new soil! My neighbor has the most luscious of gardents! Huge!!! He says it is all because of the manure :-)

  1. Yikes! Ok, let's get you situated.

    1. The beds are GREAT! These will be perfect.
    2. It looks like you have a lot of yard to work with, just be sure that your beds are located where they will receive at least six hours of sun and are convenient to a water source.
    3. My soil recipe for raised veggie beds is 1/2 organic garden soil (Note: NOT potting soil--this can be purchased at most box stores these days) and 1/2 organic compost (this can also be purchased at many box stores, definitely at a local speciality nursery. However, later in the season I will teach you how to produce your OWN compost!).

I listed a couple of quick links for you below. I am curious about your soil here, it may be interesting for you to test the soil in the ground vs. the new raised bed recipe.
